Thomas K. Lang is chair of the Webster University Art Department. He initiated a program in Vienna, Austria, which provides Webster University students and faculty with the opportunity to study abroad. The gallery on the Webster University Vienna Campus has been named the Thomas K. Lang Gallery in honor of his efforts.
Melody Ellis is a ceramic artist living and working in Edwardsville, Illinois. Ellis initially studied ceramics at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland before earning her BFA at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She served apprenticeships in Pennsylvania at Moravian Pottery and Tileworks and the Fabric Workshop & Museum. Ellis also held positions at the Clay Studio, an international ceramics art center, and Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. She now works as a studio artist, exhibiting nationwide. Her humorous, expressive work can be found in private and corporate collections and numerous publications.
Ellen Curlee presents contemporary fine art photography, photo-based art and video at the Ellen Curlee Gallery on Washington Avenue in St. Louis. Her mission is to "create a cultural mix where a broad range of internationally renowned artists/photographers are exhibited alongside carefully selected regional artists." The gallery was voted "Best Gallery in St. Louis" for 2007 by the Riverfront Times.
